Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1981, Tatsuya Yokosaka currently lives and works in Tokyo. Deeply influenced by Japanese anime culture, his works function like fully realized anime scenes—where characters, objects, and world-building intertwine to form rich narrative threads that yield continuous discovery.

His flagship Film Box Series emerges from a fascination with vintage media and contemporary cultural observation. Yokosaka transforms canvases into hyper-realistic model kit boxes, meticulously painting everything from box lids and corners to signs of wear and tear. By incorporating hand-drawn labels, aged stickers, and graffiti on celluloid sheets, he constructs a trompe-l'œil space hovering between reality and fiction.

Anime, plastic models, and pop culture remain central sources for Yokosaka. Deconstructing and reassembling familiar cultural symbols, his work balances a sense of nostalgia with humor and expansive imagination. Every detail acts as a narrative fragment, inviting viewers to piece together their own storylines.

In recent years, Yokosaka has actively expanded his practice across multidisciplinary boundaries. Beyond fine art exhibitions, he regularly collaborates with global brands and cultural institutions. Highlights include a custom artwork created for Porsche Taiwan featuring the Porsche 964 Turbo S, a showcase at ComplexCon in collaboration with Hong Kong brand GrowthRing & Supply (2024), and a joint T-shirt release with Japanese lifestyle magazine DRIVETHRU. He also collaborated with renowned musician Gen Hoshino to create the album cover for Isekai Mix Daibutokai (feat. Ghosts). These cross-disciplinary endeavors continue to broaden the scope and resonance of his visual repertoire.
