Geometry and Color Unfold the Visual Field — Chiang Shu-Yun’s New Solo Exhibition “horizon: the visible latent” Debuts at Soka Art Taipei
When viewing is no longer a static gaze but a generative experience unfolding through time, painting becomes an open field of exploration.
Taiwanese emerging artist Chiang Shu-Yun presents her new solo exhibition “horizon: the visible latent” at Soka Art Taipei from November 8 to December 6, 2025. Continuing her ongoing inquiry into the essence of painting, Chiang explores how perception is generated and extended through abstract geometric forms and layered structures of color. Rectangular outlines and chromatic planes interweave on the canvas; negative spaces and accumulations coexist. Each boundary becomes a point of departure that triggers visual movement, allowing the act of “seeing” to unfold in time and summoning the liminal zone between the visible and the latent.

A Vocabulary of Woodcarving Centered on the “Gaze” – Daisuke Teshima’s Perspective at Soka Art Taipei
Soka Art is delighted to present Japanese artist Daisuke Teshima’s latest solo exhibition Perspective, on view from September 27 to November 1, 2025, at Soka Art Taipei. Rooted in the concept of the “gaze,” Teshima’s practice blends classical Japanese woodcarving and Buddhist sculptural techniques with polychrome and mixed-media expressions. His works draw inspiration from everyday encounters with people, objects, and events—fragments that overlap, merge, or drift apart until a moment of inspiration crystallizes them into tangible form. The exhibition invites viewers to explore these moments and share in the act of seeing the unknown.
